Why are there times where I feel like I’m living the most generic life? Lately, it feels like I’m not doing anything significant. I go to work, I mess around on my computer, and I hang out with friends. I guess thats what everyone is supposed to do, but damn does it get boring. What’s even stranger is that a couple years ago, this would’ve been fine and a few years before that, this would’ve been ideal. But right now it’s just plain boring. Alright, enough with the monotonous. There have been a few highlights to my life in the last few days.
Last week, I applied for a car loan at the local credit union. I found out yesterday that I got pre-approved. I wrote $8500 on the application, so I guess I’m approved for up to that much. According to my mom, there is some room for movement on that. Add to that a downpayment of $1500, and I’m sitting at around 10 grand for a car. Unfortunately, I doubt I’ll find anything suitable that’s new for that. I’m going to do some searching this weekend and see what I come up with. My goal is to have a new ride by the end of next week and that’s a very real possibility.
The main reason I want to get into new wheels before the end of the week is because Warped Tour is a week from Sunday. Justin, Louie, Kristin, and Lauren will be joining me. The van would definately not be a good vehicle to take down there. It’s got enough room, but I’m not sure it would even make it all the way down there and no air conditioning would be hell. Personally, I’m going there to see Break the Silence the most. I know they’ll only have a short set, but I’m unbelievably hyped up for them. This year, they’ve got the usual mix of old favorites and new blood. Bad Religion, Anti-Flag, Avenged Sevenfold, Story of the Year, Yesterdays Rising, From Autumn to Ashes, NOFX, From First to Last, Taking Back Sunday, New Found Glory, and The Vandals are all bands I’ll be looking forward to seeing.
I went and saw I, Robot last night. I liked it. Judging from the reviews I read after I got home, people either loved or hated it. The CGI was bad ass and the plot had a decent number of twists. The thing has late summer blockbuster written all over it. Personally, I’m not a fan of Will Smith, but he usually puts on a decent performance. If you’re into Sci-Fi, you’ll probably like it. As with every movie that’s based on or derived from a book, I’m sure some liberties were taken. Actually, from what I read, about all they used was Asimov’s 3 rules of robotics. I’d give it a B+. It’s a pretty good movie, but not one of my favorites.
Don’t forget you’ll be seeing Kristin and me at Warped!
I’m probably going to see I, Robot sometime this week. You are correct in that the only thing taken from Asimov’s novellas are the laws of robotics. For that reason alone, I’m a little tepid going into the movie, but enough people have liked it that I think I should be able to enjoy it.
About a month ago I found myself scanning for open ports on all the IP’s on my subnet (just for fun). Quite a few Vulnerable users out there, about five with port 80 open, but just one was hosting a page, 12.219.188.107. So I visited this page on and off several times since then, and I just wanted to say that it’s good to hear that I’m not the only one who finds this area of the range so completely boring. I mean just look how bored I am. It’s 3AM on a friday night, and where am I? On my computer.
It’s just sad
So yea, that all I wanted to say
hmm..nice site!
