On a whim, I grabbed my camera on my way to work yesterday. It turned out that it was just Mike and I for the day. We made the day a little more fun by taking pictures of lots of things. See them here.
The outside ones are of our drive up to Cook. While there, we found this physical traning trike and rode it around. When we got to Orr, we were informed that the hallway to the computer lab was being refinished, so we could not walk on it. They did let us climb in through a window though. Of course, we captured it on film. Other random pictures are strewn throughout. Oh yea, and the final picture is a video of my trike riding experience.

I decided to post weekend pictures after all since a few of the subjects want them and Bev wants to see them. Go here if you’d like to check them out.

I don’t really have anything exciting to post today. I suppose I could put the drunken pictures from last weekend up on my site, but that might embarrass a few people. So instead I bring you a few interesting links.
YouHaveBadTasteInMusic.com
A funny site with some funny videos. Watch them and learn.
Take that junk mailers
A guy manages to cash a promotional junk mail check for $95,000. It’s long as hell, but worth the read.

…where I think “Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle” is better than “The Village?”
I’ve watched 2 movies in the last 2 days; both of which have been stated above. The Village sucked. I wasn’t so disappointed last night right after I watched it, but the more I think about it, the more I feel like I just got duped out of 2 hours of my life. It’s built up to be this crazy horror movie, and it never gets there. Then there’s this twist at the end (which I predicted about 30 min into the movie) that totally ruins it. Complete and utter shit.
Tonight, I figured what the hell and saw Harold and Kumar. Now of course this is your average stoner comedy, but somehow during those 4 years of college I grew fond of them. Maybe it brings back all kinds of good memories. Maybe I am just so childish that I still think these types of stupid humor movies are funny. Either way, I laughed my ass off.
Now look at my opinions of those movies. The “summer blockbuster” just got its ass kicked by the “stoner flick.” Something is very wrong here. Some crappy, half-assed, eigth grade material is gonna make millions at the box office this week. While the truely entertaining movie won’t even get a mention. Strange but true.
I’m way too tired to go on right now, so instead I’m going to catch some shut eye and maybe I’ll post something more tomorrow.

I made the jump into the 20th century and finally got a cell phone. If you’d like the number, you can email me or IM me. I don’t want to post it online. The phone is a Samsung VI660. It’s your basic flip phone with a color screen. I didn’t get text messaging or vision, so don’t even bother to try to send me stuff. Yea, that’s about it. I need to go find a job now so I can pay for said cell phone for the full 2 years I signed up for.

I got a new set of speakers today. Logitech Z-640’s I picked up for $50 on NewEgg.com. Gotta love that deal. I don’t have a 5.1 sound card though. For the time being if anyone knows of some driver workaround to make a Sounblaster Live! Value or a MSI K7N2-L do 5.1, then I’d be very happy if you gave me that knowledge. I have a feeling these things could sound 10x better with a decent card. The bass on them is great with what I have already. I have it at about 66% right now and it’s plenty. Part of that is so I don’t drive the family nuts with booming bass all the time. Getting back to the sound card… just another thing to add to my “to buy” list. The problem is I want too much and I can’t be spending all kinds of money. Saving for a new car has me pretty strapped.
Speaking of cash, I’ve been lining up these little computer repair gigs lately. I’ve had 4 calls lately from people who need help with computer problems or upgrades. The nice thing is I can charge about half what a local computer shop would and still make some nice money. So far I’ve raked in close to $100 without much trouble. With any luck I’ll be able to finance all the computer stuff I want to buy and still save for my car.
Edit: Rick requested a few pictures of my new speakers in the comments. I grabbed a few quick shots with the digital camera. Please excuse the horrid flower wallpaper and pink walls. This is not a permanent room for me. Without further adeu, here they are.
